Smart Rehabilitation for Physical and Cognitive Excellence

01

Coordination

01

Coordination

Our coordination training assists patients in reconstructing neuromuscular connections, enhancing motor skills, and mitigating the risk of re-injury.

Enhancing coordination is essential for enduring rehabilitation and restoring confidence in daily motions, whether one is recuperating from a stroke, orthopedic surgery, or neurological disorders.

02

Balance & Stability

02

Balance & Stability

Neuromuscular control, reflexes, and postural strength are improved by the ExerCube training’s unique physical and cognitive demands. To assist users restore confidence and resilience in daily activities, our training integrates agility tasks with mental engagement to improve dynamic balance, minimize fall risk, and speed recovery.

03

Agility and explosive strength

03

Agility and explosive strength

Dynamic movement, injury prevention, and sports performance require agility and explosive strength. Combine high-intensity physical activities with cognitive tasks in the ExerCube training to improve these abilities. This combined method improves coordination, muscle power, and reaction time. ExerCube improves speed, leap, and confidence in rehabilitation and sports conditioning.

KEY AREAS

Evidence baserad movement therapy for a wide range of applications

Efficient training of physical-cognitive and mental skills

Advanced Training Concepts and Assessments for Physical-Cognitive Recovery:

Our specific training programs and diagnostics focus on:
  • Reapproaching the original physical-cognitive load profile through:
  • Stabilization and holding exercises
  • Directional changes and deceleration movements at increased speeds
  • Enhancing cognitive and executive skills such as:
  • Reaction speed
  • Differentiation and decision-making abilities

These approaches are backed by research from the ExerUP! project, highlighting their effectiveness in rehabilitation and sports recovery.

Specialized Training Concepts for Neurological Rehabilitation:

Our programs offer targeted training concepts, diagnostics, and assessments aimed at:
  • Restoring and maintaining cognitive and physical mobility

  • Executing isolated, personalized movement patterns

  • Creating sustainable learning effects

  • Accelerating return to daily life

  • Effectively delaying the progression of neurological diseases

Real patient success stories, such as the stroke rehabilitation featured in the RTL report, highlight the ExerCube’s powerful impact on recovery and neuroplasticity.

Targeted Training Concepts and Assessments for Holistic Rehabilitation:

At the core of our rehabilitation approach are specialized training concepts, diagnostics, and assessments designed to:
  • Restore and maintain cognitive and physical mobility

  • Strengthen coordination

  • Prevent falls

  • Improve dual-tasking abilities

  • Enhance quality of life and mental health

Real-world applications, such as the successful integration at Hospital zum Heiligen Geist (read more) and insights from Warnemünde interviews, underline the ExerCube’s impact in geriatric and neurorehabilitation settings.

Patient training physical and cognitive functions during Phase 3 rehabilitation for knee injuries with ExerUp at DIZH.

Sep 2021 - Aug 2023

[ExerUp]

Design and evaluation of a digital exergame-based solution for effective and attractive sports rehabilitation after knee injury

ExerUp focuses on the development of effective and appealing sports rehabilitation training, particularly for recovery from knee injuries. The programme targets phase 3 of the rehabilitation process, in which patients must relearn how to combine their regained physical abilities with cognitive stimuli.

Digital exergame solution for fall prevention in older adults

This innovative research project focused on the development of ExerG, a video-based exergame solution specifically designed for older adults. The aim was to create a safe, customisable and motivating training programme that promotes physical fitness and mental performance at the same time.

Thanks to a body weight support system combined with everyday movements and cognitive training stimuli, a unique, immersive training environment with three-sided projection was created. This allows senior citizens to train in a realistic and motivating setting, improve their mobility, reduce the risk of falls and sustainably increase their quality of life.

This digital solution combines play, exercise and prevention – a milestone in modern health promotion for the elderly.

Home version of ExerCube for diabetes prevention: Effects of video-based training on cardio-metabolic and cognitive health in individuals at increased risk for T2D

As part of this project, a home version of [ExerCube], an immersive fitness exergame, was developed. The aim was to provide individuals at increased risk of type 2 diabetes (T2D) with a safe, motivating and individually adaptable training programme that addresses both physical and cognitive functions simultaneously.

The training system integrates an evidence-based combination of game design, exercise physiology, metabolic research and cognitive training science. An immersive setting and personalised training programmes provide targeted support for cardio-metabolic health, cognitive performance and exercise behaviour in the home environment.

The development was user-centred and incorporated scientific expertise and continuous user feedback. The result is a scientifically sound and practical exergame system that promotes health literacy, improves quality of life and is also suitable as a model for prevention programmes and health economic applications.
